I am very excited to start my elventh year of teaching. I love it here at Barfield Elementary School, and cannot imagine teaching any other students. The past 3 years at Barfield have been very enjoyable, and I look forward to a great year of learning with your child. When I began my teaching career it was in fourth grade. I took an interim position at Smyrna Elementary School for ten weeks. My interim position was followed by four years of teaching fifth grade at Smyrna Elementary, followed by two years of teaching fifth and sixth grade at a small elementary school in Western Massachusetts. I grew up in Massachusetts, but have quickly made Middle Tennesse my home! I have a a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Trevecca Nazarene University and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Lipscomb University.
Not only do I love teaching at Barfield, I love having my children, Jackson and Calleigh, attend here as well. My wife, Cyndi, and I have two children (Jackson 9 and Calleigh 7). Our children mean the world to us, and have changed the way that I look at my students. I always treat each of my students how I would expect my own children to be treated while at school. I believe that our children are a gift and our time to make an impact on each of their lives is limited. I am excited about our partnership in education this year!
